Butterfly smile :)

Hello again I am back with another card which should have been posted on Friday (!) but due to a tummy bug was delayed !

It is time for a new challenge over at the Stampin' for the weekend challenge blog and this week we are sponsored by Simon says stamp

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

Our challenge this fortnight is monochrome. I have to admit that when I hear monochrome I cringe as I find it so difficult to use just one colour but I also have to admit that I really had fun creating this card.

First I created the background by inking up my acrylic block with my distress ink pad and spritzing with a water spray then stamping onto watercolour card.
Then with the same ink pad I stamped some text on top - this is very faint but if you click on the picture you may see it. Then butterflies "smile" and the sentiment were stamped in a darker pink and finally I attached a couple of buttons with some button twine to the butterflies.
All of this was then layered onto a matt of pink and popped up on foam pads on the base card.

I hope you like my creation and that you will join in and play along with us at stampin' for the weekend this week x

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Sweets stamps blog - Stamped background
{pin}spirational challenge - Another fabulous photo inspiration - thanks x
Sweet stampin' challenge - Things with wings
Clearly inspired challenge - Things with wings
Outlawz Sunday CAS challenge - CAS spread your wings

Type-ical !!

Hello, thanks for stopping by. This post is late as I have been sick again but thankfully am all better now and I am hoping to stay healthy for the rest of the year as that is my quota of ickiness for the year done !!
So if any of you have any tips for staying tummy bug free PLEASE impart your wisdom in the comments section :)

Right back to the important bit - crafting ! On Friday Claire released two new digi stamps at the jellypark store and this fabby retro type writer is one of them.

Type writer digital stamp is available at the store here.

I love this and with the "just a note to say" greeting it can be used for so many occasions. I added a play on words by creating a "you're just my type" sentiment strip in Microsoft Word. I added just a little colour with my prisma pencils just to add a bit of depth.

For my card I used a free digi paper from mel stampz for my base layer and a collage sheet from calico collage on top. I made the folded chevron (and I totally {heart} it) using a fabulous tutorial at Belle papier here.

Don't forget to check out all the other DT creations, and the new challenge too, over at the Jellypark challenge blog.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Crafty Sentiments designs - Clean & simple
Repeat Impressions Sketch A812 - Fab sketch - thanks x

Thanks for visiting me today I hope you have a great weekend x

My girly fix

Hello I hope you are well today I am back to myself after shaking off that nasty flu bug.

We had a weekend away last weekend and I came home exhausted but my mojo was super fired up and on Monday I made not 1, 2 or 3 cards but 4 cards and had a ball at my craft (dining) table !

So here is one of my creations using DP's from the Authentique Uncommon 6x6 paper pad. The butterflies were die cut with my crealies creative die (love this die it cuts 4 different sized butterflies at the same time) I added some grey gems to the butterflies and the sentiment strip and some black satin ribbon from my ribbon stash box.

Love this girly paper with those butterflies and bling - this was def' a super girly fix after a weekend away with the boys !

Here's another ....

I have another card to show you to today that I made for a friend.

I knew I wanted a CAS "grown-up girly" card and I wanted it to be pretty but still elegant.

I have used a DP and also image stamps from pink petticoat and a sentiment from HOTP. The embossing behind the DP is from a sizzix texture plate which I had forgotten I had but I'm glad I remembered as it looks great here :) I heat embossed the sentiment in white EP. 3 little gold gems complete the card.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Card crafters circle - CAS
Crafts for eternity - Brilliant birthdays
Paper players - Tic-tac-toe (Birthday, dry embossing & ribbon)
Fashionista challenge - Baby's or birthdays
Inky impressions challenge - Embossing (both heat & dry on here)

Thanks for visiting today x

Paper therapy

Well I am still not feeling any better - still got terrible tummy cramps - not sure what the hell it is but I wish it would hurry it up and go ! To take my mind off my belly (!) I have been playing with paper and watching the Olympics all day :)

While browsing through some blogs this afternoon I came across this super post/tutorial over at the Kraft journal and thought I'd give it a go. I have some Stampin' up papers and stamps which haven't really been used that much and knew they'd look fab with this technique so out they came.

After assembling the "quilted" panel I swiped my versamark ink pad across the edges added some bronze EP and heat embossed. I embossed the center flower motif the same and also the border along the bottom - the bronze embossing looks great I love it :) I embossed the "thanks so much" sentiment in white to make it "pop". The thin ribbon just added the finishing touch I wanted and it's done !

Here's a (slightly wonky) closer look at that panel

What a fantastic way to use up scraps of paper - I will def' be playing more with this technique - thanks to Lynn over at The Kraft journal for the amazing inspiration & sketch x

Supplies used:
DP-Everyday enchantment (SU) STAMPS-Fresh vintage (SU) & Sentiment HOTP

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

The Kraft Journal - Use any sketch (Yours !)
Paper pretties Monday challenge - Use 2 or more DP's
Tammy's scrapin' corner - Anything goes
Paper pretties Wednesday challenge - Thank you cards

Great catch !

Hello and happy Wednesday :)
I am looking forward to the rest of the week as I've spent the last 3 days feeling poorly :( and I am not a good patient ! I do not get ill very often (thank goodness) but when I do I hate it (who  doesn;t ?!) I like to take a tablet and feel better and when I can't I mope ! Today is day 3 of feeling yuk so I'm sure I'll be better tomorrow - fingers crossed ;)

Today it is time for a new challenge over at My mums craft shop challenges and this week want to see cards inspired by ice cream colours. I chose chocolate chip with sprinkles :)

My image is a rubber stamp from the greetings farm not sure what he is called I've had him ages but never inked him up.
I coloured him first with my Pro-markers then added some shading with my prisma's then die cut and chalked the edges a little. All the stitching is done by hand but I think it's worth the effort I love the look :)
DP's are from the BG Life of the party 6x6 paper pad and the sweet sentiment was a freebie clear stamp with a magazine. Stars die cut using sizzix framelits stars.

Here's another pic

Don't forget to hop over to MMCS challenges to check out all the great DT creations and get all the details for the challenge.

I have used one of the Jellypark new releases called boy no1 medal which is perfect for this challenge and another super cute addition to the jellypark store – you can find him here.

Girly goodness :)

Good morning I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine wherever you are ! The UK has finally found a little summer and I am lovin' it ! Isn't it amazing how a little sunshine can make everything feel a little easier - it certainly brightens my mood :)

Anyway I am here to show you a card that I made for the new challenge over at MMCS - this week our challenge theme is "Birthday girls"
I can't wait to see your creations this week I just know there will be lots of ribbon, lace, glitter and all things pretty :)

I used a wee stamps clear stamp and coloured her first with my Lyra aquacolors then added shading and depth with my prisma pencils - it is the first time I tried this combination and wasn't sure if the sansodor would mix very well with the aquacolor water colouring but it seemed fine and definitely added lots more depth to the image.

The yummy DP's are from the BG Picadilly paper pad and the main frame is die cut with my fleur de lis square spellbinders. I added lace from my local haberdashery - I love the clean bright white - and flowers which I tipped with scattered straw distress ink and lemon stickles.

Here is another look (sorry about the weird angle !)

I hope you'll check out all the details over at the MMCS challenge blog - the DT have been busy making some lovely cards and projects to inspire you.

I would also like to add my card to the following challenges;

Basic Grey challenges - Things with wings
Come & get it - BINGO (I used gems, diecuts & flowers - actually there is only one thing in the grid I DIDN't use !)
Let's ink it up - All girl

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Use 2 or more dies (Spellbinders fleur de lis & Die-namics flat bottomed clouds)
