Mothers for sisters !

Hi I'm back to show you my last GDT card for The sisterhood of crafters who this week want to see your card or project for your mums !

I went for another simple card and decided to use some of the huge stash of chipboard shapes I have in my crafty cupboard.

The lovely papers are from a HOTP paper pad - I just love the colours - and I have accented the paper with some glossy accents which you can't really see but in real life it makes you want to run your finger over it !

The other thing that my photo doesn't really show to its full effect is the ribbon pleat that runs along the card. It is a lovely soft pink chiffon ribbon and I just couldn't get a good shot of it to show it off so you'll just have to take my word for it that it looks great {ahem - not boasting but love the effect !!}

I'd really like to thank the wonderful ladies over at sisterhood of crafters for having me - it's been an honour x
Don't forget to join in the fun - the challenge runs for 2 weeks so you've plenty of time and no excuse ! For loads more inspiration from the rest of the DT visit the sisterhood of crafters blog x

I'd like to add my card to the following challenges;

- Use pleated ribbon or paper
The Paper Shelter - Ode to mums

Girly frou frou !

Well while I should have been ironing this afternoon I spent my time {more wisely!} crafting instead !

How could I not after seeing this weeks colour challenge at CR8 4FN take a look

When I saw it I went all girly and frou frou and knew just what I wanted to do.

I had seen a beautiful sketch here at I heart art - sketchy Sunday earlier in the week and just knew the 2 challenges would gel together beautifully.

I went for a beautiful soft pearlescent pink background and used my Anna Griffin lace stamps top and bottom.

The flower was made with tissue paper {I only had cream so I used a copic marker to pink it up !} and a scrap of black net that was left over from my halloween cards.
After layering it up and securing with a brad I spritzed it with a little spray and sparkle then some spray and shine for super sheen !

I had enough net left over to tie around the top of the card underneath a light pink sheer organza ribbon.

I used a combination of stamps for the sentiment {Crafters companion for the sentiment & Kanban for the frame} and popped it up a little with my red line tape.

I finally realised that CR8 4FN called for us to use cream too so I added the pearls !

A simple another simple card but it is oh so pretty - even if I do say so myself !

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

CR8 4FN - Colour challenge
Sketchy Sunday @ I Heart Art - Fantastic sketch - thanks x
Ambers Crafts & Stuff - Favorite things (handmade flowers and these lovely stamps)
Scrapbook Sisters - Wedding/anniverssary
Stampavie & More - Black (hope there's enough black here x)
The Paper Variety Challenge - Flowers
Claudia & Company - Monochromatic (2nd entry)
Pals Paper Arts - Flowers

Thanks for popping over - I hope you enjoy the rest of your day x

Button up

Another day and another challenge to tell you about !

This time it is the turn of papercrafting journey to set the challenge and that is to let us see those creations made using a freebie - it doesn't matter where from but if you do need a freebie check out the super cute ones from "just some lines" here.

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous digi store "just some lines" who treated the DT to some super sweet images - pop over to the papercrafting journey blog to check out the other girls creations and join us for your chance to win $15 to spend in the just some lines store - oh and while you are there why not check out our DT call and maybe you could soon be joining our little team of journey guides yourself.

I coloured this super cute image with my promarkers and added a yellow twine bow to the girlies hair - aren't they the cutest couple ?!

I followed the sweet sunday sketch at the sweetest thing - I love Karens sketches and haven't played along for a couple of weeks.

That wooden heart embellishment was saved in my stash just waiting for the perfect card to rest on ! It was actually the price tag on a story book that I bought for my son at a craft fair last year - I just knew I had to re-use it. I added the wings from a craft companion stamp set.

The papers I used are from a paper pad I've had ages and recently rediscovered called Tiffanys from We are memory keepers. I love the bright colours against the clean white background.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges;

Bunnies and butterflies

Good morning to you, I hope you are feeling well and full of the joys of spring !

It is school holidays here in the UK and we are busy here. We spent the weekend at the seaside and then visited the spring lambs at the farm yesterday - I do not care how old you are those SUPER cute lambs can melt any ones heart.

Today it is time for the first of the challenges for April over at The sisterhood of crafters where I am lucky enough to be a guest designer for the month.

This week they want to see your projects with an Easter or spring feel to them.

For my card I have used a couple of cute felt bunnies which I got from paperchase for my sons Easter hat. He very kindly shared them with me !!

The rest of my card grew around these bunnies with the papers being chosen to co-ordinate with my embellishments not the other way around ! (incidently the papers are from a DCWV stack - not sure which one, sorry).

The lovely sentiment is from the raindrop echo designs "spring sentiments" set - I just recoloured and resized it in microsoft word. Then added lots of gems for some extra spring bling !

I hope you like my simple spring card and I hope you will play along at The sisterhood of crafters this week x

I would like to add this card to the following challenges;

Aly's Sunday Challenge - Bunnies
The crafty Pad - Spring is in the air
A Spoon Full Of Sugar - All creatures great & small

Tagalicious beauty

Good morning thanks for popping over to my blog.

Today it is time for another challenge at cooking it up with Katie and this week our challenge is as easy as 1, 2, 3 !

Start with 1 image
Add 2 Patterned Papers
Finsh with 3 Embellishments (either 3 in total or 3 different types)

This week we are sponsored by gingerloft designs who provided the images that the design team used for their projects check them all out at the cooking it up with Katie blog.

I made a tag this week to try and use up some scraps from my bulging scraps drawer. Both of the patterned papers are from HOTP I think. I added some ribbon, a button and some pearl swirls for my embellishments.

Simple really as I wanted to keep that gorgeous image as the star of my tag !

I do hope you will come along and join in the fun at cooking it up with Katie this week for your chance to win another fabulous prize.

I would like to add this tag to the following challenges;

Digital Tuesday - Little women
Creative Stamp friends - Swirls
House Of Gilli - Stripes and bling
Blog A Doodle - Girly
Dream Valley Challenges - Things with wings
The ABC Challenge - Sugar and spice
Flutter By Wednesday's - Soft pastel colours

Thanks for stopping by x

Hello Sunshine - at last !!

Well I am so glad to see a bit of sunshine that I just had to incorporate some into my card for my Guest design team spot at Pile it on this week.

This week we are sponsored by the fab Pizzazz A Plenty so our challenge this week is to add some sparkle to your sentiment - Say it in style !

I knew how I wanted this card to look but I just couldn't get the suns rays to look quite right. Then I found this fantastic tutorial video on K werner design that set me on the right track - thanks Kristina.
Obviously I changed it up a little (i've never been able to do as I'm told !) and spaced my rays out a little so you could see the blue sky behind x

Now as for the DP's that is a little tricky as I used mostly end bits from my scraps drawer but I think they are mostly basic grey and my minds eye papers from various paper packs - I love the mix of papers and patterns and the colour theme keeps them all tied and I think it works !

I used microsoft word to create the sentiment - perfect for my teenage neice's birthday and added some bling form stash x

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Ambers Crafts And Stuff - Try a new technique (sun rays template)
Simon Say's Stamp Challenge - Spring colours
Scrapbook Sisters - Use yellow (my fav colour at the mo !)
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything goes + additional something new
Tuesday Throwdown - Spring
Cute Card Thursday - Totally tropical
Do You Stack Up ? - Use yellow
Dutch Dare Card Challenge - Spring has sprung
Craft us Crazy - Spring/Easter

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I love visitors !

Lovely lemon !

Happy Wednesday thanks for visiting x

As I type the sun is shining and I am sitting in the dining room with the doors open. I can smell the scent of these gorgeous double daf's and the world is good ! Oh how I love spring !

Anyway back to business !

Wednesday means that it's time for another challenge over at cooking it up with Katie and another week means another fab' sponsor which this week is Digi's with attitude.

This week Katie wants us to use the following ingredients;

Monochrome
Scallops
and a die cut

I knew I wanted to use a bright spring colour and of course yellow/lemon was at the top of my spring list !

While browsing through the other challenge sites that I love I went back to the etsy inspired challenge which I have already entered this week but I found so much inspiration from the XS baggage Co this week and had to have another go !

This photo inspired me to use one of my digi stamps from The wax fruit company by the super talented Arielle.

I love the effect of this stamp with the yellow colour scheme - it looks so fresh.

I outlined the image with my new sakura clear glaze pen and it really made a huge difference although you can't really see it in the photo.

That fabulous gingham paper is a digital paper from the creative cottage.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Etsy Inspired Challenge
- See inspiration pic above
Wax Fruit Company - Double your chances of winning !!
The Crafty Pad - Flowers
Paper Sundaes - Spring blossoms

Virtual vintage !

Today is the start of my month long Guest design team position with Pile it On.
And what a lovely challenge to start off with - this week the lovely team want to see your romantic and fussy projects.

So snuggle up to your loved one and see what it inspires you to create !

I found this adoreable image at All things paper while browsing the internet one afternoon and just knew that I wanted to use it for this card. It is actually a scan of an old postcard from a grandmother - which for me makes it even more special.

I printed it onto matt card and distressed the edges with my Tim holtz distressing tool then inked up the edges too - I was trying to make it look authentic.

I also took inspiration from this beautiful little purse over at the XS Baggage and co which is the sponsored store at Etsy inspired challenge this week.
I made my flower with my spellbinders dahlia nesties and spritzed them with water before scrunching them up then I inked them a little before layering up. Finally I fastened them together with a pearl brad.

The DP's are from the 7 gypsies victoria paper pack - these are so gorgeous that most of the work is done for you - I never want to cover them up !

I do hope you like my card and that you will join in with us at Pile It On this week x

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Pile It On - Romantic and fancy
Card Making Mama's - Embellish it !
