Join us to brighten your day !!

Easy crafting projects have a brand spanking new challenge for you today and this week we have a fab inspiration picture to spark your mojo.

Isn't it gorgeous - I just can't wait to see how you will all interpret the picture and what fabulous projects you will show us this week.

My card is a clean and simple one but I just knew what image I wanted to use as soon as I saw the picture.
It is a digi stamp from digital delights which I just printed and glittered up for a bit of bling !

I added the sentiment using microsoft word - simples !

Please accept my apologies for the terrible photo it has been quite dull here recently, and this photo just does not show the sparkle and vivid colours at all - if I get a chance I'll retake it and edit later x

Pop on over to the easy craft projects blog for more inspiration from the fab DT and all the details.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Crafty sentiments - Add some sparkle
Digi doodle shop challenge - No patterned paper
Crafty creations challenges - Over the rainbow
Truly scrumptious - Summer sparkle
KB cute monday - Bright colours
Corrosive challenges - Summer colours

Thanks for visiting x

Rosy apple x

Hello again - I have finally got some time to post some of the cards that I made "just for fun" NO DT requirements" just pure joy !

So the housework can wait {again !} and if all goes to plan there may be a few posts today - you'll be sick of me later !!

This card is based on the sketch challenge at splitcoast stampers(SC 336) - I don't usually enter these as I am toatally intimidated by the sheer brilliance of the other entrants but I just adore this sketch so I thought I'd give it a whirl !

My image is a digi stamp from the fabulous Arielle @ The wax fruit company I just adore her images and she always inspires me with her clean and uncluttered style.

I decided to paper peice the stamp with some digi papers from a kit that I purchased a while back and haven't had a chance to use until now - gorg aren't they ? The kit is called apple of my eye from Vinnie Pearce available here from 2 peas.

A simple card but I love the colours - unfortunately I just cannot get a good picture with my camera at the moment - does anyone have any idea how/what to clean my lens with ? I think it might just be dirty as my pic's seem cloudy.
It's not a posh camera just a Canon but as I can't stretch to a new one at the moment I'd appreciate any help x

I would also like to add my card to the following challenges;

Splitcoast sketch SC 336
A spoonfull of sugar - Here comes summer
Clear it out crafts - Paper peicing
Digital Tuesday Challenge - In the garden
Diva's by design - Florals
Freshly brewed challenge - Use yellow
Scrapbook sisters - English country garden

Thanks for visiting me today x

Lovely lemon and lime x

This week on stampin for the weekend our challenge is to use lemon and lime - yes show us that citrus zing !

I tried to make a card that was more "fresh" but I just had to use one of these paper peiced trees from My scrap chick. I've had them ages and not used them and this card has been "growing" in my mind recently so here it is !!

I have added lemon to my lime in the patterned paper, layering and stitching but I also wanted to add a little pop and the pink delivered that !

I hope you like it and that you will play along with us - there is a fab prize up for grabs as we are sponsored by simon say's stamp so pop over to the stampin for the weekend blog for more gorgeous eye candy from the DT and all the details x

Thanks for visiting today - have a great day whatever you're doing

Yummy inspiration

Hello hope you are well - we are having a very busy week with Issac off school for half term and hubby on holiday for the week.

The boys went fishing yesterday and we spent today on the beach, tomorrow we are off to the zoo and on Friday I'm taking the boys to Framlingham castle {Issac has been learning about castles at school and I just know that they will LOVE it !}
Needless to say that there is not a great deal of time for crafting this week as I am exhausted by the time my bum hit's the sofa in the evening !!

But I do have a Cooking it up with Katie DT card to share with you. Our recipe this week is a romantic one. Here are the ingredients you'll need to include;

Make it romantic
add some embossing
and some ribbon

This week our fabulous sponsor is designed to delight and the DT got to choose our own images to play with this week. I went for this gorgeous cupcake - who can resist a yummy cupcake - not me ! The sentiment is also from designed to delight.

Here is the picture that inspired me to use tyhese colours - a gorgeous necklace from The romantic garden - O how I love this necklace you can see it on etsy here

I coloured my image with promarkers and added some blinging glitter glue to the sprinkles then shadow cut it.

My embossing is subtle but it's there and was created using my sizzix texture plates and bigshot, then inked up with first white then pale pink ink.

The scalloped ribbon is velvet and soooooo touchable - I love a tactile element on a card.
The paper is from a Brenda Pinnick kit which just seems to go on forever, I love the colours and they matched the cupcake so perfectly !

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Crafts & me - Punch it out (butterfly punch)
I {heart} promarkers - Sparkly bling
Bows n berries - colour challenge {pink, turquoise and yellow}
Crafty cardmakers - something for someone you love
Paper playtime - Digi with a love theme
Aly's Sunday challenge - Cupcakes
Pile it on - Sprinkles
Cupcake inspirations - Photo inspiration {I used the colours}

Thanks for visiting me today - I hope you enjoy the rest of your week x

This gorg' paper is from a stash of my fav basic grey sheets and my stamp is a digi - Silver fairy by wee stamps at cuddly buddly isn't she just so pretty.

I used the gorgeous sketch over at a gem of a challenge, although I did move the sentiment - hope that's ok x

Dad - You're a star !

Well today it is time to share with you my 1st DT project for Easy craft projects.
I am very excited to join such a fab team and look forward to playing along with the DT girls and you too !

This week we want you to show us your projects for Dad. With Fathers day in June it's a great chance to get a card made so you won't be rushing around the day before - like I usually am !
But you are welcome to share any craft project like a scrapbook page or an altered item - as long as it's for a dad.

My card was made using DP from All my memories and a Bazzill just the edge trim which I embossed with my Swiss dots folder and bigshot.

My star was stamped and then embossed using an embossing pen, and bronze embossing powder, which meant that I could pick out the detail of the stitching and also the edge of my die cut circle and the top star in its entirety.

I stitched the papers {and border} which is one of my favorite things to do at the moment using my sew easy tool - I love it x

So I hope you will join in with us at easy craft projects - you have a fortnight to complete a project for or about a dad.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Paper sundaes - Pop it up !
Sparkles forum challenges - Something metal (embossing - bronze)
The Kraft journal - Clean and simple
Lexi's Creations - Spots or stripes
Gingersnap creations - Colour combo (denim, rust & tan)
The house that stamps built - Stitching

She sells sea shells on the seashore !

Yay another Wednesday -another challenge at cooking it up with Katie.

Our yummy recipe this week is super sunny ! We want to see your projects that include the following ingredients;
Swirls
Sunshine
and a Sentiment

This week we are lucky enough to have not only one but two fabulous sponsors. They are Meljen's designs, who treated all the DT to the lovely images we used this week, and pizzazz a plenty.

If you've visted me before you may have seen me use this technique once before - but I just had to use it again (because I love it and it was so apt to this particular challenge !!).

It is a great way to use use up scraps and I love the effect.

All of the scraps were cut then distressed with an orange ink pad before being glued down.
My image is coloured with my promarkers and I added some pearly doodles to accent some of the shells and sand. I also used my chalks to add the clouds and blue sky - ahh I could do with a day on the beach with a good book !

Well since that is not going to happen {!} I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Stamp something
- Beachy colours
Delicious doodles - Let the sun shine (Hi Teri xx)
Challenge up your life - Recycling (scraps)
The cheerful stamp pad - Colour my world (promarkers/chalks/pearly doodles and ink pad !)
Stamps R us - Going digital
Jac-inks Papercraft challenges - Warm colours
Clear it out challenge - Colouring (promarkers etc)

Thanks for visiting I hope you'll play along this week at cooking it up with Katie x

Ruffle-icious !

Last night I made a card that I was so happy with that I just couldn't wait to jump out of bed to photograph it and get it posted so that I could show you all !

None of my friends share my hobby and that is why you, my crafty friends, are so important to me. Your comments give me encouragment and I take so much joy from them - thanks for being such a great bunch.

Ok I'll stop now ! Onto my card - I returned to my current love the pink paislee butterfly garden paper line.
I cannot put these away into the craft drawers and everyday I feel them pulling me towards my craft table {commonly known as the dining table !!} - I hope you are not getting bored of seeing them ! There is one paper in there which is so lovely that I haven't yet thought of a project worthy of it so that one is being saved for absolute genius - needless to say you might have to wait a while {or a lifetime !} to see that one !

Now tho I love this paper stack it is only a 6 x 6 so I always have problems when it comes to making my fav' size card which is 5" x 7".

So this is how I got round it. I cut a peice of scrap paper the size that I wanted my finished patterned panel to be then decided where I was going to put a border/ribbon. Then I cut the paper where it wouldn't be seen (underneath the border/ribbon) then stuck the peices onto the backing guide (scrap piece) lining up the corners so that I knew it would look like continuous strips once the border/ribbon was added.

Now my gap was too big for the seam binding that I originally wanted to use - but talk about a happy accident because I had to improvise and that is when my ruffle was born ! And just let me tell you that I adore that little ruffle !

I love adding stitching but since I don't have a sewing machine found it a bit daunting until I purchased a sew easy tool - let me tell you that before I found that, especially with a zig zag stitch, it was difficult to get my stitches to look uniform - problem solved with my new tool I would reccomend it to anyone {and no I am not on the payroll !}.

I also added an embossed panel which is embossed with my sizzix texture plates and sanded then inked to show the pattern a little more.

Those beautiful flowers (and butterfly) were found hidden in a drawer full of decoupage sheets. I used to decoupage alot when I first started making cards but not so much anymore but I just couldn't put these back into the drawer so they made there way onto my messy mat to await a worthy project - voila !

Better stop rambling on now this is turning out to be a marathon post !

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Joyful stamper inspire me Friday - Thanks I just love looking at all the projects it's a great source of inspiration x
Crafts & me - Anything goes with kraft
Crafty creations challenge - Flowers, patterned paper and ribbon
Creative belli - Something begining with S - stitching
Flutterby Wednesday's - Open (didn't use the optional sketch but wanted to share my butterfly with you !)
Paper pretties - Flowers
Pixie dust studio pixie challenge - Vintage

I would like to sincerely thank you all for visiting my blog x
