Unscripted Sketches Challenge # 44

Here is my entry for the Unscripted Sketches challenge # 44

The card base was made using bazzill cardstock and scored with my new Martha Stewart scoreboard ! I then embossed the base using my bigshot and the Sizzix Twirls embossing plate.
The patterned paper is a digi paper by Cupcake Cutiees downloaded here at MyGraficO and the image is a digi stamp from the fantabulous Pink Petticoat. I also used a border punch (Martha Stewart of course !) to add a little more interest.
I only had white lace so I coloured that with my jet black stazon ink pad and added some gems to the beautiful stamp and voila - easy peasy.
As for the inside I had a little help with some inspiration from the so very talented Amy from Pickled Paper Designs and specifically this card. Thanks Amy your designs make me want to try something new every day.

Color Throwdown challenge # 81 & The I (heart) 2 stamp sketch

This weeks colour combo at The Colour Throwdown is brown, pink & white and olive.
This also follows the sketch from the fantastic Jen at I (heart) 2 stamp.

Love love loved the colour combo and jen's gorg sketch this week and I hope you like the card as much as I enjoyed making it.

All the patterned papers are from a digital kit by The Creative Cottage as well as that beautiful rich chocolate brown which I embossed with my bigshot and a cuttlebug folder. The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart and the chipboard is from an old K & Co kit.
The ribbon and button are both recycled from unwanted clothing and the lace, gems and thread (dmc) are from my craft stash.

My very first easel card !

After months of looking at all those beautiful easel cards online and thinking that they were far too difficult for me to manage - I have finally made my first. How brave I hear you thinking (esp those of you who have yet to make your own) but I wasn't actually as brave as you might think....
While browsing the net one day this week I happened upon a website called The Creative Cottage. This website sells all sorts of digital crafting goodies including papers and digi stamps as well as all sorts of kits. Amoung the kits I found the easel card kits !!!!!! I immediately added this to my cart, as well as another kit with some beautiful papers, whizzed through the check out and I was printing out and making this card within minutes.
I was astounded at the ease of the card kit - you even get fool proof instructions.
I was so impressed by the quality of the products that I actually emailed the store to congratulate them.
Now I know card kits are not for everyone but how handy is it to have everything to hand to print out and put together within literally 20 minutes, and of course you can add as little or as much as you wish.
So I hope you like my card and I am very sure you will be seeing more papers and stamps from The Creative Cottage on my blog.

Unscripted Sketch #43

This is my first entry into an unscripted sketch challenge and it was a double whammy !
They piggy backed a colour combo onto the sketch.
I hope you like the outcome as much as I enjoyed creating it.
The base paper if quilted diamonds from Karen Foster design. On top of that I layered strips of a striped paper from K & Co and a darker green paper from a Brenda Pinnock kit I have. The chipboard swirls are made by Magenta and I left them bare for that shabby chic look.
Layered on top of the swirls are a flower, leaves and a butterfly that I cut out of somemore K & Co paper and I accented the butterfly with a couple of gems and a little wooden bead. I also gave the flower middles a little lift with my Spica glitter pens but not much as I wanted to maintain the shabby/grungy look.
I stamped "Mum" with my Love Elsie - Josie alphabet and the you're the best is from a Kelly panacci set. A button from doodlebug completes my card.
The vintage look is not usually my style but I thouroughly enjoyed this challenge - thanks Unscripted Sketches and thanks for looking x

Color Throwdown challenge # 80

This is my card entry for Color Throwdowns challenge #80 which I certainly did find quite a challenge.
The colours light green, rust and burgundy are not generally a concoction I would usually use - but I guess thats the whole idea !
I raided my paper stash (which took nearly a whole morning!) and didn't find much that would fit the bill and was just thinking about a trip to my favorite craft shop, Capture The Magic, (poor me!!!!!) when I came across this patterned paper from Imagination Project called No Clue Whatsoever - which sealed the deal.
Although there is no "rust" colour in the paper I added a mat of orange and then the ribbon colours seemed to pull it all together.
The button is a spare one of an old coat (I love to recycle and re-use) and the ric rac was a little cut off which I saved from a past project - see I do use those little bits and bobs which my husband is always telling me off for keeping !
The border was created using my gorgeous new Martha Stewart border punch and the stamps I used are from the See-D's set Blooming Friendships.

I (Heart) 2 Stamp

This is the card that I made for this weeks I (heart) 2 stamp sketch.
The papers are from My minds eye pretty please spring papers (I got these free with my cardmaking and papercraft magazine !), the flower stamps are called Bloom and Grow also from my minds eye. The quote is from a see-d's set called Blooming friendships. I highlighted the flowers with my new Spica glitter pens (a birthday present from my hubby) but you can't really see this in the pictures.
Inside I decorated with my new Martha Stewart border punch, more paper and a happy birthday sentiment.
As often happens this card started as something totally different and changed several times before everything seemed to slot into place.

I (heart) 2 stamp valentine

This is the valentines card I made for my hubby. I also made it to the I (heart) to stamp sketch challenge. The papers, ribbon, chipboard and stickers are all from a kit called velvet sky which I purchased from QVC sometime last year and have only just really got to use as it's been hidden underneath christmas presents and toys in my youngest son's room ! I added some denim for a little extra texture and tried to emboss it with my bigshot but it didn't really stay - I'm going to try this again after starching it maybe that will work. If anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated.

This card was made for The colour Throwdown challenge #77 and was made using DCWV textured cardstock and patterned paper from DCWV floral prints stack. The ribbon was from a bouquet of flowers (reuse and recycle !) the diecuts made using the fabulous spellbinders nestabillites labels 4. The stamp is from the Inkadinkado Boxed Wishes set.
