Happy Halloween

I wanted to share with you a card I made last weekend using the gorgeous sketch over at Clean & simple sketches. Of course I have had a hectic week and am posting it at the last minute but at least it made it onto the blog !

I just adore this simple but oh so striking sketch and it has def' been filed in my "fav sketches" file.

As the name of the challenge suggests I kept it simple with white CS on foam pads over a fabulous damask digital DP from Piccadilly Lily and added a halloween sentiment with orange brads.

When I saw this bright beautiful satin ribbon in my ribbon box I just knew it had to be included so I tied bow and attached behind the main panel.

Hope you like my interpretation of the sketch :)

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Clean & simple - Fab sketch - thanks x
Raise the bar - Damask & swirls
Twisted Tuesday challenge - Back to basics (no machines !)
Oldie but a goodie challenge - Show us your ribbons (my ribbon is my old stash)

Dad you're the best

Happy Wednesday to you ! Of course Wednesday means another new challenge over at MMCS challenge blog.

This week we want you to show us projects with "Stars" and Kitty over at the MMCS shop is offering one winner at fab £10 voucher to spend in store :)
For my card I used DP's and a topper from the wellington range by Do-crafts. I done a bit of recylcling as the topper is matted on a peice of cardboard from the muller yoghurts multipack ! It was such a lovely "kraft" card colour I couldn't throw it away ! I didn't have an oval die the right size so just tore it by hand and inked it up !

I added "dad" to the image with rub-on letters and stars from my button stash. I don't usually use pre-printed toppers but, I must say, they are great for a fast card - and to be honest I would rather be making a pretty girly card so for "male" cards they are a great cheat !

I used the super sketch over at Sketch Saturday - thanks for the fab inspiration.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Sketch Saturday - Fab sketch
Just us girls challenge - photo inspiration
Tuesday throwdown - Fall colours

Thanks for visiting me today x

Today it is time to set a new challenge over at the jellypark challenge blog and to celebrate world gratitude day which is today we want you to make a card or gift to say thank you to someone special :)

I have made a card with the super cute girl with a speech bubble jellypark digital stamp available at the store here. This is another of Claire's fab images which can be used for so many different occasions.

All DP's are from basic grey and I done some heavy distressing with ink, scrunching and tearing and roughed up edges for a more "organic" feel ! And added some muslin, lace and button twine along with some flowers, pins and die cut butterflies to complete.

I hope you will hop on over to the jellypark challenge blog to check out all the amazing DT creations and get all the details for the challenge - don't forget to check out the new releases while you are there.

Heartfelt

Hello I hope you are well today :)
Another Wednesday has rolled around which means that it is time to tell you about the new challenge over at MMCS challenges.
This week we want to see projects with hearts and flowers on them. We are sponsored by
For my card I have used digi papers from the Thrifty finds digital kit by Mari Koegelenberg available at Sweetshoppedesigns.com.
I  must confess to being thrifty myself as the ribbon I used came from an old pair of PJ's !

The text image, which I used as a sort of tag, is a freebie but I cannot remember where from - I am sorry - if anyone knows email me and I will update this post x

*Top tip* The die cut border was white (I did not have any red cardstock - it is now on my shopping list !) so I used the boys crayola crayon to colour it in - I love how it brings the texture out and almost looks like woodgrain. I also used the same crayon to edge the sentiment strip so it "popped" a little more against the kraft heart.

The heart was die cut with a Nellie Snellen die and embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. Flowers, ric rac and pins are all from my stash.

Here's a closer look at some of the details

I am really pleased at how the crayon looks - I'll def' use this technique again :)

I hope you'll play along with us at MMCS challenges this week - don't forget to hop over to the blog and check out all the fab DT creations and get all the details of the challenge.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Make it Monday with Kraft outlet - Lavishly layer

Going grey with scrap creations - Embossing
Oldie but a goodie - Ribbons (Ribbon, flowers and pins all more than 6 months old x)

Tip top Tuesday - Recycling (ribbon from old PJ's !) See above for top tip x

Little red wagon - Thinking of you

Thanks for visiting me today - I just love it when you stop by :)

Buttoned up !

Yay it's Wednesday (and my post isn't late !) which means that it's time for another challenge over at MMCS challenge blog. This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Tiddly inks.

This week our challenge to you is to show us how you use buttons on your creations.

I have been wanting to try this technique, which I have seen all over blogland, for ages.

So I started by die cutting my cardstock with my heart die. I used the heart die cut as the base to adhere my buttons to and then positioned the cut panel over the top (does that even make sense ?!).
 I then added the heart frame around the heart "window" and added the sentiment & flowers with brad.
All of this was then added to the base card using dimensional adhesive.

Here's another pic for you

I hope you'll join in and play along with us over at MMCS challenge. The DT has made some amazing projects to inspire you so hop on over to the blog and take a look.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Shopping our stash weekly challenge - 3, 2, 1 (3 words - I love you, 2 flowers, 1 brad & using button stash)
Top tip Tuesday - Recycle it (buttons)
The pink elephant - Wedding/anniversary
Going grey with scrap-creations - Pick 3 from the list (I chose red, die cuts & buttons)

Thanks for visiting me today and thanks for all your lovely comments x

Sympathy tree

Here is a card I made for a very good friend of mine who sadly lost her father this week.

This is the first sympathy card I have made and knew I wanted to keep it simple with very little embellishments. So I went in search of a suitable image.
I came across this tree vector image here and knew it was just perfect.

I added a beautiful sentiment from Clear dollar stamps and added a button twine bow. The dark brown matt is pearlescent and adds just a hint of glimmer.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Color throwdown - Beautiful colour palette
My craft spot challenges - Hope is rising (sympathy & encouragement)
Clearly inspired challenge sponsored by Clear dollar stamps - Leaves
Papertake weekly challenge - Anything goes + non square card base

Thanks for visiting me today x
