Give us a wave :)

Yay it's Friday :) It is also sports day at my son's school so keep your fingers crossed for those rain clouds to keep on moving at least for the morning !

It is also time for a new challenge over at the Jellypark friends Friday challenge blog and this week the challenge is to show us some thing waving ! Now you can be creative with this challenge and show us waves or flags & banners - anything that is waving or can wave :)

Issac has just 3 weeks left at school before the summer holidays and the last 2 weeks are spent with his new class teacher so I thought I had better get cracking on some teacher thank you's !

This super cute digi image is one of the new releases over at the Jellypark store - I love all of Claire's fab images but I especially love how she illustrates her boy images and as a mum of two (unruly !) sons it is so very nice to play with boy images which are still cute and fun.

So this cutey is waving his flowers for his teacher ! I have coloured him (in my sons school colours - yes they wear purple !) with my prisma pencils and popped him up for a bit of dimension. DP's are from the MME A beautiful life paper pad and the cute banners are cut using my MFT Die-namics fishtail banner.

Here's a closer look at that image;

Don't forget to check out all the DT projects for more waving inspiration over at the Jellypark challenge blog and also check out the other new release too while you are there :)

I would like to add this card to the following challenges;

Creative card crew - 1, 2, 3 (1 image, 2 DP's and 3 banners)
The cutie pie challenge blog - One for the boys
4 crafty chicks - Schools out
Paper play challenges - Flags/banners

Thanks so much for visiting today I hope you have a great weekend x

Cheers :)

Hello - thanks for stopping by today x It is time to share with you the new challenge over at MMCS and this week we want you to show us your favourite stamp.

My stamp is one from MFT's A la modes collection called "cheers" available at MMCS here.
I coloured her with pro-markers and paper pieced her dress with this yummy lemon & black pearlescent paper. I also used my embossing ball tool to give the glass a curve so it stands proud from the image a little.

Here's a closer look

I must have had these papers for over a year now and I am not sure what brand they are - sorry but they look great and just as a co-incidence these are also the colours of my ladies day dress this year - lemon, black & white :)

Don't forget to hop on over to the MMCS challenge blog to check out all the fab DT cards and get all the details for the challenge.

What's your style ?

Well thank goodness it's Friday ! Not sure why but this week seems to have dragged a bit and I am looking forward to a lovely weekend with my boys !

Today it is also time for a new challenge over at stampin' for the weekend and this week we want you to show us YOUR style. Is it vintage, shabby chic, CAS or girlie ? Anything goes as long as it shows off your style and has some stamping on it somewhere.

I do change up my style quite alot but my favourite style has to be what I am calling "girly CAS".

So to show off this style I started with an embossed kraft panel which I inked with white ink to highlight the embossing then layered on an aqua fish tailed banner with a beautiful doily (die cut with my NEW cheery Lynn die which my lovely Mum treated me to :) Thanks Mum xx)
Here is a closer look at that yummy doily :)

I stamped straight onto the doily and added some die cut butterflies (crealies creative), gems & pearls for a final flourish.

I also decorated the inside of my card - sorry about the dull pictures the weather here is horrid :(
Don't forget to check out our fab new challenge over at stampin' for the weekend sponsored this week by

Fan-tastic !

I was very pleased to be asked to be guest designer this week at quirky crafts for this card here.

The challenge over at quirky crafts this week is to use ribbon and handmade flowers. I used an image from paper pretties (who is also their sponsor this week) she is called Fan-tastic and is available here. I have coloured her with my pro-markers and cut the image with a nestie layered onto another nestie :)

I didn't have a card base in the colour I wanted so I used my pro-markers to colour around the edge before adding my DP which is from a DCWV mat stack I also stitched on some pretty checked DP to the centre of my card.

I made a triple bow in cream satin ribbon to add at the top of my image and a pretty flower made using some x-cut flowers with the help of a fab tutorial over at Clares creations.

Here's a close-up of my flower
I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Crafty calendar - Flowers in bloom - with optional swirls & flourishes

Birthday bunting !

Good morning to you - hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend oh and happy Fathers day to all the Dads and grandads out there :)

Today I wanted to share with you a card I made for the fab challenge over at the catered crop. The lovely Linda very kindly chose this brooch I made as one of her top picks for the last challenge and asked me to join her and her amazing DT for their banners & bunting challenge.

They are sponsored by Birdie Brown digital stamps who, so very kindly, treated me to an image to use. How cute is that clown (you can find it here) - thanks Torico it was a joy to colour and create with :)
I coloured the digi stamp with my promarkers because I wanted a bright, strong, vivid colour and I am happy with the result - I wanted to add highlights with a white gel pen - especially to the balloons - but forgot so I will add them at a later date !

My bunting was made with scraps of card and I left it blank with a view to adding a name when I give it. I inked the edges of the bunting with some brilliance ink and it has given it a lovely sparkly sheen.

The DP is EP summer days - I just love this zingy, happy paper collection - it always makes me smile to play with it !

Thanks for stopping by - don't forget to check out all the amazing cards and projects over at Linda's catered crop recipe swap x

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

So tweet

Another Wednesday and another challenge over at MMCS challenge blog - thanks to all of you who played BINGO with us last week - we saw so many lovely cards and projects.

This week we are challenging you to create a CAS (clean and simple) card/project - can't wait to see what you'll create for us this week x

Our sponsor this week is Tiddly inks digital stamps

As well as the challenge we are currently holding a DT call so if you are interested in joining our friendly team hop over and get all the details on the challenge blog.

For my card I used a Sarah Paris Freebie with a sentiment from a designed to delight set. I added some embroidery thread wrapped and then tied in a coordinating bow. I also had a rummage right at the back of my craft cupboard and decided to bite the bullet and use up some of my liquid pearls.

The problem I have previously had with these little bottles is that when I add a "pearl" it ends up looking more like a hersheys kiss ! After much browsing the internet and trying different techniques I braved it and added the "pearl" dots to my card. I found the best technique was to add a a generous dot of liquid pearls then give it a good flick from underneath - voila no more peak on your pearl !!

Here is another pic

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

My time made easy pretty palette - White, pink & grey
Hybrid chick card caravan - CAS
Dynamic duo's - Yummy colour combo
Incy wincy designs challenge - Use more than one digi
Paper & such design blog - Feathered friends

Thanks for visiting me today x

Fabulous friend :)

Hello I hope you all had a good weekend - we took the boys on a long walk, climbed some trees, picked some wild flowers (sneezed alot !) and enjoyed a barbecue with family.

This morning while Aidan was at nursery and Issac at school I should have been ironing (!) but instead I made this card using the amazing sketch over at retro sketches as my inspiration :)
As soon as I saw this sketch I knew that I wanted to the back shape to be a cut out piece and that diagonal striped DP would show that off best so off I went, scouring through my scraps, and found this paper which was just big enough :)

The red accent was a no brainer as I love this colour combo and this pink petticoat image & sentiment just seemed perfect to top it all off ! It's my friends birthday soon and she LOVES shoes (of course !) so this card is just for her.

Hope you like it - I am def filing this sketch to use again- and again !

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Retro sketches - Great sketch again - thanks x
Crafty Ann's Challenge blog - It's a girl thing
Card & scrap - Use bling
Speedy fox & friends Challenge - Black & white with a splash of colour

Thanks for visiting - hope you find some time to get crafty today x

Bugs n butterflies !

Good morning I hope you are all well. The weather here is horrid again with more rain (why does it always rain for the kids holidays ?!) and high winds. I am hoping it clears up soon as I have a huge mountain of washing to get done and it would really help if I could get it dry on the washing line !

This morning I am here to tell you about the new challenge over at stampin' for the weekend which this time is "Bugs & butterflies". We have not one but two fabulous sponsors this week they are

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog
and
So this time you have double the chance to win a great prize !

I went more CAS on my card this week using a digital stamp from TLC creations and a digi sentiment from Jess over at playing with paper - these were both freebies :)

I added a some subtle colouring to the image with my pro-markers.

The frame was created by drawing lines with my tri-plus fine liner pens and then I added some pearls to the corners. The bunting was hand cut with a little bow at the ends - simple.

Here's another pic

Don't forget to check out all the other DT creations over at stampin' for the weekend - you will not be disapointed :)

And now for something a little bit different ......

Today I have something a little bit different to show you ! I made myself a pin to wear to the jubilee party I went to.

I had a lovely hour wandering around my local haberdashery ooh-ing and ahh-ing at all the pretty things and came out with a bag full of goodies and a head buzzing with ideas !

I knew I wanted to create a corsage style brooch for my dress and to begin with I had one big felt flower in the middle but it was just too chunky and heavy so I opted instead for these red rolled roses with a bling centre !

So the layers I used are, from bottom up, blue tulle, super soft feather trim and it's topped off with the felt rolled roses.

The kids had great fun playing with the tulle (I brought metres of red, white and blue tulle !) and went wild with the feather trim !

Since it is the 1st time I tried anything like this I am really quite pleased with the yummy girliness of it - I think it would look fab on a hair band too :)

Thanks for taking a look x

I would like to add this project to the following challenges;

Catered crop - Felt (Mwah - thanks for another fab challenge theme girl x)
One stop craft challenge - Red, white & blue with crowns OR diamonds

1st birthday butterflies

Here is a card I made for a friend of mine whose niece is turning 1 this weekend. She is the most precious little girl and I wanted to make the card as girly and pretty as she is - hope she likes it :)

I used papers from my most fav' girly paper pad (at the moment !) MME's Miss Caroline howdy doody. I adore the colours and patterns in it and have almost used the entire pad - me thinks I am going to have to invest in another !

The cute image is a digi by pink cat studio and she is coloured with my pro-markers and highlighted with glitter. I used some pink twill and added a pearl heart slider I also added pearls to the embossed butterflies (sizzix embosslit from SU). The 1st die cuts are from an old Brenda Pinnick kit and I just inked them and added glitter and a little bow.

This little "Happy Birthday" stamp is one of my fav's from HOTP and I just had to add some more glitter to the sentiment banner - and yes I was covered with glitter when I'd done - it's how I am happiest :)

Here's another pic

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Boy crazy (or boys are crazy - mine are !)

Firstly I must apologise for the late-ness of this post I have absolutely no excuse and can only blame the fact that my head is like a sieve and I totally forgot - so sorry !

Right onto the fun stuff ! We have a brand spanking new challenge over at Jellypark friends Friday challenge and this week we are boy crazy ! Yes we want to see your crafty projects for or about boys. We also have a fabulous new release which would be perfect for the challenge so don't forget to check that out too.

I have used another of my favourite Jellypark digi images (who am I kidding ? I love them ALL !) Claire makes some of the best digi stamps for boys which I think are pretty hard to come by and being a mum of 2 boys I love to create something fun for my boys birthdays and, of course, their friends too !
I used to dread making "boys" cards until I found the great range of male themed stamps over at jellypark you can see all of them by clicking here :)

This one is called knight & dragon and is on sale at the moment at just 60p !!!!!!!! Find it here.

I used my promarkers which haven't been touched for at least a couple of weeks (!) and a couple of new dies (shhhhh don't tell hubby !). The fabby border die is die-namics open zig zag die and I also used the die-namics fancy flourish.

Here is another shot for you
