Farm fresh !

Hello again I am back with another card that I made last night for a few challenges. If you read my post earlier you will know just how much fun I had last night - it was so nice to take some time to play along just for the fun of it - no DT projects in sight !!

I made time for this lovely sketch this week from the sweet Sunday sketch challenge

I had a birthday card to make for my niece who turns 8 later this week so I even had an excuse to play along !

I have used papers from my new Authentique splendid paper stack and a gorgeous (but quite old !) greeting farm stamp. My neice is a bit of tomboy so this image is just perfect.

I coloured it with my prisma pencils, I just love colouring with them I find it so relaxing - I have always loved colouring and as a child would spend hours with my crayons and colouring book. Of course back then it wasn't prisma's but crayola's ! I can still remember the thrill when I got a brand new pack of crayola's and I still love buying them for my kids !

I used a MS flower border punch and my crealies butterfly die and added some gems, seam binding and a button threaded with twine.
A sentiment banner completes the card and for this I used a clear stamp from HOTP.

I would also like to add my card to the following challenges;

Anyone for Anya ? - 3 papers, 2 embellishments (button & butterfly) & 1 image.
The ribbon reel challenge - New yr's resolution (mine is to use my scraps - used scraps from this card for my butterfly), ribbon (seam binding) & a button
Stamptacular Sunday challenge - Diamonds or pearls ? I have used diamonds on my butterfly but I have to say I prefer pearls although I do love both (esp the real thing - well we all love a bit of bling don't we girls !!)
CES challenges - Check it out !
365 cards - Simply stated - use a 2 word sentiment.

Thanks for visiting today hope you enjoy the rest of your day x

Butterfly post

Hello and happy Tuesday - well why not ?!

Every week when I browse through the challenge blogs I like I always end up with at least 2 or 3 sketches and themes pinned to my task bar to remind me that I really want to play along. Most weeks I do not find the time to play along or by the time I get round to it - it's too late to participate !
So this week I was determined to play along with them and set myself some time last night to do just that. Let me tell you that I had an absolute ball playing with my crafty stash (some new stuff too !) I plugged in my head phones and there I was until after midnight !

But I got 2 cards made ... here is one of them.

This is a card that I made using the yummy sketch over at paper players this week

I have used some new papers from the Authentique splendid paper pad and a gorgeous stamp that I've had a while but only used once (!) I am not sure which brand it is - sorry.

The ribbon and lace is from stash as are my gems and the sentiment stamp is from Kanban.

I used my eyelet punch thingy (!) to create the stamp style edge to my stamped image - I like it and will def' try it again x

I would also like to add this card to the colour challenge over at My time made easy - I did sneak in a bit of pink - hope that's ok !
I'd also like to add it to the favourite things challenge over at Pollycraft - my favourites on this project are the gorgeous papers and of course butterflies !

Thanks for visiting today I hope you get some time to play with your crafty stash today - hey the ironing can wait !
((hugs)) Suzie xoxo

PS Sorry about the weird angle this photo seems to have been taken at ! Not entirely sure what happened there !!

Penguins are NOT just for Christmas !!

It is time for another Jellypark Friday !

Yes today Claire is releasing some more super cute digi stamps at the jellypark store.

I have used both on my card as I just couldn't choose between them !

I am also here to tell you that penguins are not just for Christmas !! OH NO they are for life (!)
and to prove it I used this new little cutie on a valentines card !

The gorgeous bunting comes in 4 different designs including plain and plain stitched - O I think you'll be seeing this bunting alot around here - I just love it - can't wait to paper piece it :)

So for my card I have used another pre-scored stepper card from papermania and added papers from my scraps drawer (clouds pink petticoat digi & stripes HOTP).

I coloured my digi stamps with copics and spica glitter pens and then I added some stamping to the bunting (Letters from the Clearly hand stamped set from crafters companion & heart from a Christmas daisy & dandelion set)
I also added a stamp to the penguins tummy (Hero arts - patterned buttons) and added a gem.

I used my new heart border punch (another bargain from ebay), added a zva pearl flourish and a couple of little bows to the "secure" bunting.

The XOXO sentiment is also from the clearly hand stamped set by Crafters companion.

Here's another view

Don't forget to check out all the other DT creations and also the new challenge over at Jellypark friends Friday challenge x

For my card I used the super cute digi stamp "Barry angel 1" from stamp fairy and coloured him with my prisma pencils before adding some glossy accents and lots of glitter !

I have used a pre-scored card base from papermania in a lovely tone of Kraft card and added a cute digi paper from the Sherry K Summer paper pack. My lower panel is embossed with a sizzix texture plate. I am sorry it hasn't shown very well in the picture in real life it is much more pronounced.

My fav' colour combo

Good morning happy Thursday to you all. The powers that be at colour create let me loose to choose the colour combo. I chose my most favourite colour combo which is pink & green I also added the optional extra of handmade flowers.

This fortnights challenge is sponsored by Kenny K who kindly gave all the DT images to play with.

I coloured up the image with my promarkers and added some stickles for a bit of sparkle here and there.

I used my new hounds tooth embossing folder along with some scraps from my scraps drawer - yes my new years resolution is still on track !

The swirls are a sizzix die I have had ages and I added some brads from stash.
I made several styles of flowers before I settled on these shabby ones which are handcut then distressed using my Tim Holtz distressing tool and scrunching them up before inking for a bit more of a distressed look. The little printed tag is from an old K & Co kit.

Here's another look...

Scrap-a-licious !

Hello I have another card to show you tonight.

This time I have been inspired by the sketch over at Unscripted
I just knew I had to play along with the amazing DT at unscripted this week as this sketch looked perfect for me to use some of my bits and peices from my scrap drawer which is my new years resolution - yes I have promised myself that I will use up a good amount of the scraps in my drawer before I buy any more papers :/

The sketch is also perfect for a CAS design so that's just what I went with !

I used some felt from sew sweet to make a flower. I have been wanting to try and make one of these since I saw the new(ish) dies on the market and thought to myself I can do that without a die !
It's my 1st attempt and not perfect but I think it's ok - I'll have another go and maybe cut my felt wider so the loops are loopier !

I embossed my kraft cardstock using my MS embossing board and layered it up with some co-ordinating bazzill card. My DP and matching elements are old freebies from a magazine giveaway. I added some doodling with my gel pen to make the papers and elements "pop" a bit more.

From the angle that I took the photo it looks like my sentiment says "irthday wishes" but believe me there is a "B" behind that flower !

I done lots of experimenting with this card and had loads of fun playing with it - hey isn't that what it's all about ?!

I would like to add this card to the following challenges;

Unscripted Sketches
- Gorgeous sketch - thanks x (S)
Paper sundaes - 2nd birthday celebration - pick your fav' challenge {I chose # 87 Felt} (SU)

Right where you should be x

Good morning I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend.

I had a lazy Saturday afternoon yesterday sitting on the sofa with the laptop on my knee hopping around blogland looking at some of my fav challenge sites and deciding which I would join in with first !

Then after dinner when the kids were in their pj's I got out my crafting scraps drawer (I am determined to reduce it's size before I buy anymore papers !!) and got started.

I fell in love with this sketch over at sketch Saturday so that was my starting point.

I also liked the recipe over at creatalicious this month which is Love, a punched border, ribbon, flowers & bling - mmmmm tasty combination hey ?!

I have had this Ippity sentiment stamp for months and months but never used it so I was pleased to dig it out and get it inked up. I also used this crown stamp, also had this one a while without it being used, it is from MME. Have you noticed the "xoxo" stamp in the bottom right corner ? It is from my clearly hand stamped set from crafters companion - I adore this little set.

My border punch I bought secondhand this week from ebay at a bargain price (yay! love a bargain). The lovely ribbon and swirls were in my Christmas craft box from my Mum & Dad (Mwah - if you are reading this Mum x) and the little roses are from my craft cupboard.

I am afraid that I can't tell you what the DP is as it is a scrap - but isn't it yummy ?!

I am very pleased with the end result especially as I got it finished then realised that I hadn't added flowers so the roses were added at the last moment - and I love them !

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Sketch Saturday - Sketch (see above) (S)
Creatilicious - Love, punched border, flowers, ribbon & bling (15TH)
Marks finest papers - Border punches (S)
Paper pretties Wednesday challenge - Use a sentiment as the main focus of your card (M)

Simply create too - Layers, layers and more layers (F)
Do you stack up ? - Be pinky (TH)
Crafters companion monthly challenge - Love is in the air {I used the XOXO stamp from my clearly hand stamped set)

Thanks for visiting me today - hope you are enjoying your weekend whatever you are up to x

Out with the old....

Well at stampin' for the weekend we are back from our Christmas break and raring to go !

This week it was the turn of Chris to choose our theme and she chose "out with the old" so we want to see you using old supplies - although you can use some of your new stash too !

This week we are sponsored by the fab Lily of the valley who is offering the winner a £10 voucher !
I went to my scraps drawer and found these paper strips from the Echo park summer days pad. Of course I had to use a whole sheet as the back DP too ! I love these sunny, fun papers and thought they'd be perfect for a valentines card.

My image is a digi from broken box designs (you can get it here) I paper pieced the image with more scraps and mounted it onto a circle then a scalloped circle die cut(s).

The ribbons (yes there are 2 if you look closely) are also old stash from the bottom of my ribbon box but that yummy bling swirl is new - a Christmas pressie from my Mum & dad - thanks xx

I hope you like it and that you will join in and play along with us this week @ stampin' for the weekend x

What's in your pocket ?

This week at Jellypark friends Friday challenge the challenge is to create a card or other paper craft project with a pocket.

I used a fantastic gift card tutorial here at YNS - thanks Maureen. I was a bit dubious about the twine pull working but it works like a dream. These are so easy to make and can be adapted for any occasion - I will def' be making more of these !

Here are a few more photo's to give you a better idea how this works !

I have used one of the new jellypark images called girl in warm winter hat available at the jellypark store here and coloured her with my prisma pencils then added the turquoise to her coat with a sakura gelly roll pen. My DP's are from the 6" Echo park happy days pad.

My largest scalloped oval die wasn't big enough to mat my image onto so I die cut an oversized scalloped circle and cut it in half then overlapped the halves {lining up the scallops} until I had the right size. It's a little wider than the oval but I think it works just fine.

I hope you will hop over to the jellypark challenge blog to check out all the other gorgeous DT inspiration and that you'll join in and play along with us too x

I would like to add this card to the following challenges;

Sweet sketch Wednesday
- Great sketch - perfect for a gift card holder - Thanks x (W)

For a NEW...big sister

I thought I'd just pop on and show this card which I made to order last weekend. For a new big sister.
The image is from artist Jen Leeflang and although is not available to buy yet it soon will be at digi stamps 4 joy. Thanks Jen for letting me use it - it is just perfect x

As soon as I saw the image I just knew that I wanted to use these papers from the Lilybee head over heels paper pad.

I have coloured the image with my prisma pencils and left the rest of the card relatively clean with little embellishment only a little lace and a sentiment banner.

Inside I continued the congratulations sentiment ...

and added a little more girliness !

Natural beauty

Good morning to you - how was your week ? I have to admit that I was pleased to get back to some sort of routine and normality. Issac has had a lovely holiday from school but he also was ready to go back and he was full of joy when I picked him up after school yesterday - telling me about his day and all they'd been doing - which is so nice to see and I hope it continues for the years ahead.

Aidan has gone back to nursery with not so much joy ! He likes being at home with his Mum !
But he is there for a couple of hours this morning and back tomorrow for the morning so he better get used to it - anyway he has a great time while he is there and always comes out with an armful of paintings for the kitchen door !

Anyway I suppose I had better stop whittering and get on with telling you about the card I have made !! {Sorry !}

This week at the colour create challenge blog Edna chose the most goregous colour combo for us all to play withRed, cream & sage with optional buttons.

Thank you Edna for such a beautiful and elegant colour combo - I loved playing with this combo and will def be using it again. Pop over to the colour create challenge blog and you'll see that ALL the DT LOVED it and produced the most amazing cards.

As well as an amazing colour combo we also have an amazing prize up for grabs. The winner will get $5 worth of Mo Mannings gorgeous digi stamps from Mo's digital pencil.

For my card I have used papers from a super old cosmo cricket kit that I came across recently - the papers just seemed absolutely perfect. I used 2 dies - spellbinders picot circle and my crealies creative butterfly too - actually thinking about it I used 3 dies as the "thank you" sentiment {HOTP} is stamped and then die cut with my smallest spellbinders circle !

I didn't have the right colour twine so I used my natural button twine and coloured it with my red promarker before threading onto my button - VOILA !

It is a simple card but I love it !

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

The shabby tea room - Something with wings
Sentimental Sundays - Anything goes
Flutterby Wednesday - Open {with a butterfly, fairy or angel}
Truly, madly, crafty - Anything goes
