We are sailing

Hello and happy Wednesday to you :)

I am here today to show you a card I made for the new challenge over at MMCS challenge which this week is to be inspired by a song.
I was inspired by the song "We are sailing" to make a card a card for my sons 4th birthday.

I have used on of the fabulous decoupage sheets from Jellypark along with some digi papers from the Playdate paper pack by Designs by Danni available at Jessica sprague.

*Top tip* I also used the crayons on the textured die cut waves - I love how it brings out the texture on them and I used the same crayon to colour in the "wishes" on my sentiment to tie it all together.

Here's another pic for a closer look

Don't forget to check out all the other DT inspiration over at MMCS.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges;

'Tis the season (nearly !)

Good morning to you and happy Friday :)

Wow when took my son into school today his teacher told us that this weekend the children would be bringing home their lines to learn for the Christmas play most of the mums in the room gasped
"already !" but the teacher frowned at us and told us that there was only 3 full weeks to learn and practice before the Christmas performance's begin !!
So quite fitting that I have a Christmas card to show you today :)

Today a new challenge has been set for you over at Stampin' for the weekend. This time our theme is
All stitched up
Yes we want to see your projects with real or faux stitching and don't forget to add a little stamping :)

I used my new SU ornament dies and piercing templates to create my card and added my stitching, using silver metallic thread, to the ornaments. I also added some of the thread to my pleated border strip and also on the bow. Lots of gems add to the sparkle too.

I really love the traditional colours and patterns of this card and really enjoyed creating it :)

Don't forget to check out the stampin' for the weekend blog to see all the fantastic inspiration from the DT and get all the details for the challenge.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Starry eyed !

It's time for another challenge over at Stampin' for the weekend. And this challenge promises to be another busy one - yep it's an

Anything Goes :) challenge

A fabulous challenge needs a fabulous sponsor and we have just that for you too ! This week we are sponsored by The pretty little ribbon shop
For my card I used the inside of a tissue box (!) which had that gorgeous rich kraft colour- yummy. I die cut a star from the lower right corner then rolled it though my paper crimper for a little bit of texture.

More stars were die cut and glittered up with my doodlebug sugar coating along with a chipboard "50". I actually used the same colour glitter but because I used different colour card they look different while still coordinating (love this effect).
Just a little twine with a button and a banner complete this CAS card.

Halloween witch

Hello and happy Wednesday :)

Wednesday is, of course, the day that we set you all a brand spankin' new challenge over at MMCS challenge blog.
This week we want to see your "So spooky" projects.

We are lucky enough to be sponsored this week by the fabulous Elizabeth bell and also our very own My mums craft shop.

For my card I used this super cute Jellypark digi stamp and coloured it with my prisma pencils.

Instead of using design paper I embossed some core-dinations card and sanded it to reveal the great purple centre of the cardstock.
On the morning that I made this card I received some purple, orange & black curling ribbon for my Halloween balloons. The colours matched my card so perfectly that I wrapped some around my card, tied it with a bow, and anchored it with a brad.

All edges are distressed and I added some glamour dust to edges of the images.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Sketch Saturday - Another fabulous sketch this week - thanks x
The pink elephant - Halloween
Live & love crafts - Halloween colours
Color throwdown - Fabulous colour palette this week - thanks x

I left the layout quite simple with just some ribbon/button twine and a handmade flower  as my embellishments. The paper I used came free with a magazine that hubby bought me while I was poorly last month (ah bless him !)

Joyful colour combo :)

Hello I hope you had a good weekend unfortunately mine was spent looking after my poorly little boy :(  Poor little mite - I hate it when they are ill and there is nothing you can do to help. He is off school today and I might keep him off tomorrow too as he still seems a bit spaced out !
So as I write this post we are watching scooby doo (really old ones the same ones that I watched when I was his age !) all cuddled up on the sofa with blankets !

After dinner last night I went out for a {power} walk to get some fresh air and honestly just to get out of the house for 45 mins ! When I got back I felt so much better and decided to tidy-up some of craft stash. While tidying I came across this embossing folder which I picked up a while ago and had totally forgotten about !

I have been seeing this lovely teal/red colour combo all over blogland and decided that I wanted to give it a go myself - I love the result !

Supplies used
Embossing folder - Xcut strictly Christmas
Dies - Marianne Creatables pointsettia, Spellbinders ovals, Joycraft swirl

Happy Halloween

I wanted to share with you a card I made last weekend using the gorgeous sketch over at Clean & simple sketches. Of course I have had a hectic week and am posting it at the last minute but at least it made it onto the blog !

I just adore this simple but oh so striking sketch and it has def' been filed in my "fav sketches" file.

As the name of the challenge suggests I kept it simple with white CS on foam pads over a fabulous damask digital DP from Piccadilly Lily and added a halloween sentiment with orange brads.

When I saw this bright beautiful satin ribbon in my ribbon box I just knew it had to be included so I tied bow and attached behind the main panel.

Hope you like my interpretation of the sketch :)

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Clean & simple - Fab sketch - thanks x
Raise the bar - Damask & swirls
Twisted Tuesday challenge - Back to basics (no machines !)

Dad you're the best

Happy Wednesday to you ! Of course Wednesday means another new challenge over at MMCS challenge blog.

This week we want you to show us projects with "Stars" and Kitty over at the MMCS shop is offering one winner at fab £10 voucher to spend in store :)
For my card I used DP's and a topper from the wellington range by Do-crafts. I done a bit of recylcling as the topper is matted on a peice of cardboard from the muller yoghurts multipack ! It was such a lovely "kraft" card colour I couldn't throw it away ! I didn't have an oval die the right size so just tore it by hand and inked it up !

I added "dad" to the image with rub-on letters and stars from my button stash. I don't usually use pre-printed toppers but, I must say, they are great for a fast card - and to be honest I would rather be making a pretty girly card so for "male" cards they are a great cheat !

I used the super sketch over at Sketch Saturday - thanks for the fab inspiration.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Sketch Saturday - Fab sketch
Just us girls challenge - photo inspiration
Tuesday throwdown - Fall colours

Thanks for visiting me today x

I have made a card with the super cute girl with a speech bubble jellypark digital stamp available at the store here. This is another of Claire's fab images which can be used for so many different occasions.

All DP's are from basic grey and I done some heavy distressing with ink, scrunching and tearing and roughed up edges for a more "organic" feel ! And added some muslin, lace and button twine along with some flowers, pins and die cut butterflies to complete.

Heartfelt

Hello I hope you are well today :)
Another Wednesday has rolled around which means that it is time to tell you about the new challenge over at MMCS challenges.
This week we want to see projects with hearts and flowers on them. We are sponsored by
For my card I have used digi papers from the Thrifty finds digital kit by Mari Koegelenberg available at Sweetshoppedesigns.com.
I  must confess to being thrifty myself as the ribbon I used came from an old pair of PJ's !

The text image, which I used as a sort of tag, is a freebie but I cannot remember where from - I am sorry - if anyone knows email me and I will update this post x

*Top tip* The die cut border was white (I did not have any red cardstock - it is now on my shopping list !) so I used the boys crayola crayon to colour it in - I love how it brings the texture out and almost looks like woodgrain. I also used the same crayon to edge the sentiment strip so it "popped" a little more against the kraft heart.

The heart was die cut with a Nellie Snellen die and embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. Flowers, ric rac and pins are all from my stash.

Here's a closer look at some of the details

I am really pleased at how the crayon looks - I'll def' use this technique again :)

I hope you'll play along with us at MMCS challenges this week - don't forget to hop over to the blog and check out all the fab DT creations and get all the details of the challenge.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Make it Monday with Kraft outlet - Lavishly layer

Little red wagon - Thinking of you

Thanks for visiting me today - I just love it when you stop by :)

Buttoned up !

Yay it's Wednesday (and my post isn't late !) which means that it's time for another challenge over at MMCS challenge blog. This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Tiddly inks.

This week our challenge to you is to show us how you use buttons on your creations.

I have been wanting to try this technique, which I have seen all over blogland, for ages.

So I started by die cutting my cardstock with my heart die. I used the heart die cut as the base to adhere my buttons to and then positioned the cut panel over the top (does that even make sense ?!).
 I then added the heart frame around the heart "window" and added the sentiment & flowers with brad.
All of this was then added to the base card using dimensional adhesive.

Here's another pic for you

I hope you'll join in and play along with us over at MMCS challenge. The DT has made some amazing projects to inspire you so hop on over to the blog and take a look.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

Shopping our stash weekly challenge - 3, 2, 1 (3 words - I love you, 2 flowers, 1 brad & using button stash)

Going grey with scrap-creations - Pick 3 from the list (I chose red, die cuts & buttons)

Thanks for visiting me today and thanks for all your lovely comments x

Sympathy tree

Here is a card I made for a very good friend of mine who sadly lost her father this week.

This is the first sympathy card I have made and knew I wanted to keep it simple with very little embellishments. So I went in search of a suitable image.
I came across this tree vector image here and knew it was just perfect.

I added a beautiful sentiment from Clear dollar stamps and added a button twine bow. The dark brown matt is pearlescent and adds just a hint of glimmer.

I would like to add my card to the following challenges;

My craft spot challenges - Hope is rising (sympathy & encouragement)
Clearly inspired challenge sponsored by Clear dollar stamps - Leaves
Papertake weekly challenge - Anything goes + non square card base
